In-Vitro Fertilisation- Embryo Transfer (IVF-ET)
IVF-ET is a process whereby eggs retrieved from the wife are fertilised with the husband’s sperms in the laboratory. The resulting embryos are then put back into the woman’s womb a few days later for further development.IVF-ET treatment is a very effective method for treating infertility. It is commonly known as a test tube baby.
IVF is usually done for couples who have:
Failed 2-3 cycles of
intrauterine insemination
intrauterine insemination
Bilateral blocked tubes
Male factor infertility
Reduced ovarian reserve (high day 3 FSH, low antral follicle count, low blood AMH levels)
Moderate to severe endometriosis
Female aged 38 or over(age alone as factor)
Unexplained infertility for 2 years
