An optimal uterine cavity and a good endometrial lining is necessary for supporting a normal pregnancy。
Investigations:

Uterine cavity investigations are carried out using ultrasound and hysteroscopy. Possible abnormalities include uterine polyp, uterine fibroids, intrauterine adhesions, bicornuate uterus and uterine septum.
Treatment:
- These can be resected by surgery to provide an optimal cavity.
- Endometrial lining: An 8-13mm endometrial lining during luteal phase is usually considered good for implantation of embryos. Hormonal therapy may help to increase the endometrial thickness
